Miller and Escalera Named Bronco Student Athletes of the Month for October
(Hastings, NE) – Miriam Miller and Gabriel Escalera have been named Bronco Student Athletes of the Month for the month of October brought to you by Hastings Physical Therapy.
Miriam Miller - Volleyball - She had 248 digs during the month of October, averaging 7.09 digs per set. She earned NAIA Defender of the Week for the second time this year, and GPAC Defender of the Week for the third time. Miller surpassed 2000 career digs, where she is currently ranking second in school history.
Gabriel Escalera - Men's Golf - He won the Battle at the Dance, tying the school record in round 1 and round 3 with a 5-under score. With seven total rounds of 5-under in school history, Escalera has five. His 54-hole score at 9-under broke his own school record by 2 strokes and broke the 54-hole tournament record at RainDance, earning the GPAC Golfer of the Week as a result.
The Broncos that received Hastings PT Athlete of the Week awards during October were Ethan Wilborn (Football), Dekota Schubert (Women's Soccer), Jake Bargen (Football), and Joe Vokins (Men's Soccer).
