
Women's Wrestling Voted as Preseason Conference Champion
(Sioux City, IA) – The results are in from the Great Plains Athletic Conference with their Women's Wrestling preseason poll, where Hastings College was voted to finish tied for first with Doane. The link to the GPAC news release can be found here.
Hastings and Doane led the way with 200 points, while Midland was a close third with 183 points and Waldorf was fourth with 177 points.
For individuals, freshman Ruby Guerrero was picked to finish 4th in the 117 weight class, freshman Isabella Keesee was picked to finish 4th in the 124 weight class, junior Larissa Kaz and sophomore Tassie Hatch were picked to finish tied for 1st and 5th in the 131 weight class, and sophomore Raegen Gallaway was picked to finish 1st in the 138 weight class
Senior Tabitha Wood and senior Savannah Turner were picked to finish 2nd and 4th in the 145 weight class, junior Lisa Hoeflich and freshman Emma Stice were picked to finish 2nd and 5th in the 160 weight class, senior Marissa Patterson and freshman Chloe Harris were picked to finish 1st and 3rd in the 180 weight class, and junior Taylor Rickley and sophomore Amy Sistek were picked to finish 4th and 5th in the 207 weight class.
Hastings will begin their season at home on Sunday, Oct. 27 in a duel against Midland.
