
Salter, Creech and Jelleberg Win Competitions at Prairie Wolf Invite
(Lincoln, NE) - The Hastings College men's track and field competed at the NWU Prairie Wolf Invite this Saturday.
Placing in the high jump was senior Brady Creech, who got first with a height of 1.98m. In that event junior Markus Vigil placed 10th with 1.78m. In the 3000m steeplechase senior Tatum Jelleberg also claimed first with a time of 9:40.18. In the 5000m, Jelleberg got sixth with a 15:47.99 run.
Placing in the 800m was junior Tyler Salter, who claimed first (1:53.17) with a personal best time that now ranks third in school history. Junior Deshawn Burks took sixth (1:57.69), and freshman Evan Struss claimed eighth (1:58.58). In the 4x400m relay, Struss, freshman Parker Graves, Burks, and Salter placed third with a time of 3:26.14.
In the javelin throw, junior Edward Pallotto got second place with a throw of 51.43m. Senior Evan Morara also placed fifth with 45.0m. Vigil placed 13th with a 35.21m throw. In the 400m hurdles, freshman Spencer Hille got sixth with 57.30 and sophomore Zane Eggleston claimed seventh (57.50).
In the 1500m, Graves placed fourth with a time of 4:04.24. Freshman Derek Trompke placed 24th with 4:54.10. In the 400m, sophomore Will Grable placed 20th (52.34) and freshman Rayne Chavez-Major got 23rd (53.86).
Freshman Spencer Hille got seventh in the long jump with 6.28m. Also placing in the event was junior Chance Elwood, who got 14th (5.98m), freshman Cody Defeo, who claimed 17th (5.89m), and freshman Tanner-James Friend, who got 22nd (5.65m).
In the 100m, sophomore Noah Hudnall placed ninth with a time of 11.27. Friend also placed 15th (11.56) and freshman Adrian Lobeda placed 21st (11.75).
In the discus, freshman Jorge Vazquez claimed 10th place with a throw of 42.4m. Also placing in the event was Morara, who got 17th (38.33m), sophomore Titus Glanz got 19th (37.48m), and sophomore Rafer Severson got 22nd (29.72m). Severson also placed eighth in the pole vault (4.10m).
In the hammer throw, senior Payton Lane placed 11th with 48.00m. Trey Parriott got 26th with 36.12m. Glanz placed 7th in the shot put with a throw of 12.50m in flight one. In flight two of the shot put Vazquez placed second (14.07m), Parriott claimed third (14.24m), and Morara got fifth (14.28m).
Hudnall also placed 14th in the 200m with a time of 23.01. Also placing in the event was Lobeda with a time of 23.76.
The Broncos compete at the GPAC Championship on May 2nd in Hastings, NE at the Jack Osborne Track Complex at 12:00 pm.
