4x800m Team Breaks Record Again at NAIA Indoor Championships
(Gainesville, FL) – The men's indoor track and field team competed at the NAIA Championships in the three-day event beginning on Friday in Gainesville, FL.
In the 4x800m relay prelims, Hastings broke their own school record they set last week with a time of 7:46.58, but finished outside of the qualifying group of finalists at 16th. The group was made up of freshman Evan Struss, freshman Parker Graves, junior Deshawn Burks, and junior Tyler Salter.
Salter later broke another school record, this time in the 800m prelims. He placed 15th with a time of 1:54.06, missing out on the finals by just a couple of seconds.
Senior Brady Creech just missed out on scoring for Hastings in the high jump, taking 10th with a leap of 6'06.00".
Hastings' outdoor track and field season will begin on Saturday, Mar. 29 at the Central Nebraska Challenge in Kearney at 1pm.
