Men's Indoor Track and Field Results from Concordia
(Seward, NE) – The men's indoor track and field team returned to Seward to compete at the Concordia Classic on Saturday.
Junior Sam Wise posted his second straight B-Standard performance in the 3000m race walk by taking third with a time of 15:58.36. In the 5000m run, senior Tatum Jelleberg placed third out of 17 runners with a time of 16:04.94. Jelleberg later finished 18th in the 3000m run (9:16.16).
In the 600m, junior Deshawn Burks took eighth (1:25.10), and junior Derek Trompke placed 24th (1:33.73). In the 400m run, freshman Tyler March was 40th (58.84). Freshman Parker Graves finished 11th in the 1000m run (2:39.63).
Sophomore Rafer Severson placed 12th in the 200m dash with a time of 23.35. Also in the 200m, sophomore Noah Hudnall finished 18th (24.02) and freshman Adrian Lobeda was 37th (24.89).
Hastings competed in the 4x800m relay with a group of junior Tyler Salter, Burks, Graves, and freshman Evan Struss. The group took third out of five teams with a time of 8:10.38.
In the 4x400m relay, the team of Salter, freshman Spencer Hille, Burks, and Severson took fifth (3:27.65), while the team of sophomore Zane Eggleston, Struss, freshman Rayne Chavez-Major, and Trompke placed eighth in the same race (3:36.77).
In the long jump, Hille took fifth (21'09.50"), fellow freshman Cody Defeo was 13th (20'08.50"), junior Chance Elwood placed 19th (20'03.75"), and Chavez-Major took 21st (20'01.50").
Severson took part in the pole vault, with a top attempt of 13'05.25" to take ninth. Hille also took part in the triple jump, taking fifth (44'02.00") and fourth in the high jump with a top leap of 6'02.00".
In the weight throw, senior Payton Lane was fifth with a throw of 50'02.50" and freshman Trey Parriott took 28rd (42'07.50"). Junior Edward Pallotto placed 33rd with a throw of 39'07.75" and sophomore Titus Glanz finished at 36th (38'07.50").
Senior Evan Morara was the top placer for the Broncos at eight in the shot put with a throw of 44'04.75". Parriott finished 13th (43'04.25"), freshman Jorge Vazquez was 14th (43'00.50"), and Glanz placed 31st (38'09.50") in the event.
Up next, Hastings will travel to Kearney, NE on Friday, Jan. 31 to compete in the Charlie Foster Classic at 2pm.
