
Men's Track and Field Battles at Seward and Kearney
(Seward, NE & Kearney, NE) - The men's track and field team traveled to Seward, NE to compete at the Concordia Twilight Last Chance this Friday. On Saturday they also traveled to Kearney, NE for the Loper Last Chance.
On Friday in the men's discus, freshman Jorge Vazquez got fourth place with a throw of 44.07m. In the long jump, sophomore Rafer Severson got seventh place with a leap of 6.73m.
In the 1500m run, freshman Parker Graves claimed tenth with a time of 4:04.61. In the 400m hurdles, sophomore Zane Eggleston got seventh with 56.30.
In the 800m, junior Tyler Salter got 15th place with a time of 1:53.03. Also placing in that event was freshman Evan Struss, who got 20th (1:55.02) and junior Deshawn Burks, who got 21st (1:56.01).
On Saturday in the 3000m steeplechase, senior Tatum Jelleberg took first place with a time of 9:39.89, just 14 seconds off of a national qualifying time. In the discus, Vazquez also took 12th with a throw of 40.93m.
Next, the Broncos head to the NAIA Outdoor Championships in Marion, on May 21st through the 23rd at 1:00pm. Junior Sam Wise has qualified to run in the 5000m race walk and the 4x800m team of Struss, Graves, Burks, and Salter has also qualified.
