
Rowe and Severson Named Bronco Student-Athletes of the Month for May
(Hastings, NE) – Jaida Rowe and Rafer Severson have been named Bronco Student-Athletes of the Month for the month of May, brought to you by Hastings Physical Therapy.
Jaida Rowe - Women's Track and Field - Rowe was runner-up at GPAC in 400m hurdles with an A-Standard time of 1:01.43 and took third in the 100m hurdle finals (14.39). The placed third at a last chance invite in the 400m hurdles, clocking in at 1:00.72, the second best time in school history. At nationals in the 400m hurdles, she qualified for the finals and took eighth in the event with a time of 1:02.20, earning her second consecutive All-American award.
Rafer Severson - Men's Track and Field - Severson won the decathlon at the GPAC meet with 6282 points, winning the long jump, high jump, 400m, and pole vault. He was also second in the 100m, shot put, and discus, while being third in the javelin and 1500m. He finished the year 18th among the NAIA's decathlon competitors. He closed out his season at a last chance invite, placing seventh in the long jump with a top leap of 6.73m.
The Broncos that received Hastings PT Athlete of the Week awards during May were Severson, Josline Carter (Women's Tennis), Zailee Poulson (Women's Track and Field), Katyn Kappler (Softball), and Tatum Jelleberg (Men's Track and Field).
