(RV) Morningside Defeats Broncos, 7-0
(Sioux City, IA) – The women's tennis team began conference play at (RV) Morningside, falling 7-0 to the Mustangs on Tuesday.
In doubles, the #3 doubles team of freshmen Kayleigh Cetak and Lexi Benson took Morningside to a tiebreak, ultimately falling 7-4. Morningside won 6-3 at #1 doubles and 6-2 at #2 doubles to sweep doubles and take the first point.
On the singles side, sophomore Victoria Harris came back from a 6-1 first set loss at #2 singles to even it up at one-set all by taking the second set, 6-3. Morningside prevailed in the third set however, 6-3. At #5 singles, Benson lost the first set 6-2, but was able to take four games off of the Mustangs in the loss.
The Mustangs lost just seven combined games at #1, #3, #4, and #6 singles to win the match 7-0.
