Women's Tennis Shuts Out Tabor, 7-0
(Hastings, NE) – The Hastings Broncos came out aggressive against the Tabor Bluejays, dropping just four total games combined across the doubles and singles matches, winning 7-0.
Playing with new doubles teams, the three teams dropped just two games total to get the point. At #2 doubles with junior Paige Willcoxon and freshman Lexi Benson, as well the #3 doubles team of sophomore Josline Carter and freshman Kayleigh Cetak, Hastings blanked Tabor 6-0 in both. The #1 doubles team of sophomore Victoria Harris and freshman Cara Ansbach took control in their match early as well to win 6-2.
The singles matches belonged to Tabor as well, sweeping all six matches. Willcoxon breezed past her opponent without dropping a game at #4 singles (6-0, 6-0), as did Ansbach and Harris soon after at #3 and #2 singles, respectively, to clinch the win at 4-0.
Carter won her first set 6-0 and after the Bluejays got a couple early games in the second set, she closed out the second set, 6-2. Benson made quick work in her double bagel win (6-0, 6-0) at #5 singles, as did freshman Abby Harveson at #6 singles to complete the 7-0 shutout.
Hastings will be back on their home courts tomorrow against Avila at 1:30pm.
