
Women's Bowling Competes at Intercollegiate Team Championships
(Fort Worth, TX) – The women's bowling team competed in the Intercollegiate Singles and Team Championships, with singles on Friday and teams on Saturday and Sunday. Hastings took 18th out of 18 teams.
In the singles competition, junior Marissa Ruiz led the way for the Broncos, finishing 72nd with a pin count of 1107 and 184.5 average in the six games, with her top score of 225 in game two. Junior Allyson Heidenreich was 114th with a total of 1040 in six games and an average of 173.3. Freshman Samantha McNeely finished 126th with a total of 1026 in six games, averaging 171.
Sophomore Hailey Kirchhevel took 128th with a six-game score of 1023 and an average of 170.5. Freshman Breanna Miller placed 157th with a total of 956 and an average of 159.3 in six games. Sophomore Langley Riha was 160 with a pin count of 940, averaging 156.7 in six games.
Freshman Alyssa Currie placed 172nd with a total of 881 in six games, averaging 146.8 per game, while senior Savannah Turner was 174th with a pin count of 860 to average 143.3 in six games.
In the team competition, Hastings bowled a 2582 through the first 16 to sit in 17th place out of 18 teams. They were just short of that mark in the next 16 games at 2534, moving them down to 18th overall at 5116 pins on Saturday.
On Sunday, the third round was Hastings' best of the competition, with six of their 16 games being 180 or higher. Their score of 2725 was 14th best among the teams in the block, but still kept them in 18th place with a pin count of 7841. Their 2425 score in the fourth block kept them at 18th for the Championships, finishing with 10266 pins.
