
Women's Bowling Takes 10th on Day Two of NAIA West Open
(Lawrence, KS) – The women's bowling team took 15th out of 17 teams in the team games portion of the NAIA West Open on Saturday by going 3.5-6.5 in match play, but rebounded on Sunday during the Baker game to take 10th in the event.
Senior Madison Henderson was the top placer for Hastings at 27 with a total pin count of 854 and an average of 170.8 in her five games, led by a first game of 205. Junior Marissa Ruiz took 44th with a pin count of 758 and 151.6 average in the five games.
Freshman Breanna Miller was third amongst the Broncos, taking 69th with a total of 574 and an average of 143.5 in four games. Sophomore Langley Riha was right behind her in 70th place with a pin count of 557 in four games, averaging 139.25. Junior Allyson Heidenreich was 79th with a total of 456 in three games and an average of 152.
Senior Savannah Turner finished 99th, bowling a 243 in two games for a 121.5 average. In one-game scores for Hastings, sophomore Hailey Kirchhevel took 102nd with a score of 143 and freshman Alyssa Currie was 106th with a pin count of 112.
Up next, Hastings will compete at the Intercollegiate Team Championships on March 8-9.
