
Women's Bowling Picks Up 1st-Place Win at Morningside
(Sioux City, IA) – After a couple weeks off, the Broncos traveled to Sioux City, IA to bowl in the Morningside Invite. They finished first out of 12 teams on Saturday, then were sixth on Sunday.
On Saturday, senior Madison Henderson led the way for the Broncos by finishing second, as her total pin count of 939 gave her an average of 187.8 in the five-game event. Her best round was 206 in the second game. Sophomore Kinzie Temple was close behind her, finishing sixth. She had a total of 863 and an average of 172.6 in five games, including a final game of 188.
Freshman Samantha McNeely was also in the top 10 with an eighth place finish. She had a total of 856 and an average of 171.2 in five games. Freshman Breanna Miller took 49th with a total of 685 and an average of 171.25 in her four games.
Junior Allison Heidenreich was 82nd with a total of 363 in her two games and an average of 181.5. Junior Marissa Ruiz finished 89th with a pin count of 289 and 144.5 average in her two games. Sophomore Langley Riha finished 94th with a pin count of 139 in her only game and sophomore Taylor Dunbar took 96th with a one-game score of 122.
On Sunday, McNeely had the Broncos' best one-game score of 172. Ruiz bowled a 163, with Temple right behind at 161. Miller bowled a game of 151 and Henderson rounded out the scoring with 115.
Up next, Hastings will compete at the Glenn Carlson Invitational in Las Vegas, NV on December 18-19.
