Women's Soccer in at No. 20 This Week

Women's Soccer in at No. 20 This Week

Kansas City, Mo. – William Carey (Miss.) takes the top spot in the second NAIA Women's Soccer Coaches' Top 25 Rating of 2023, securing 9-of-18 first-place votes sporting an unblemished 6-0-0 record. Spring Arbor (Mich.) drops to No. 2 while receiving the other nine available first-place votes holding a perfect 4-0-0 record. Rounding out the top 5, Cumberlands (Ky.) slipped one spot to No. 3; while No. 4 Marian (Ind.) and No. 5 Keiser (Fla.) hold strong at their respective ranks from last week.

Rating Methodology

  • The rating was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences, Continental Athletic Conference (Independents), and Unaffiliated Groups.
  • The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each voter ranks the best teams. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second place, and so on through the list.
  • The highest and lowest ranking for each team (a non-rating is considered a low rating) is removed and the team's ranking will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the teams appears on.
  • Teams that receive only one point in the ballot are not considered "receiving votes."
