Bulldogs Take Down Broncos, 7-0
(Seward, NE) – In the last regular season conference road trip, the Hastings Broncos fell 7-0 to the Concordia Bulldogs on Wednesday.
Concordia won at #1 and #2 doubles each by a score of 6-2, while also taking #3 doubles 6-0 to sweep doubles and go up 1-0 in the match.
Junior Paige Willcoxon had the best match for the Broncos at #5 singles, bouncing back from a 6-2 opening set to take a 6-5 lead in the second set, before ultimately falling 7-5 in a very competitive tiebreak. Sophomore Josline Carter also had a strong second set after a 6-2 opening set loss, losing 6-4 in the second.
At #5 and #6 singles, freshmen Lexi Benson and Kayleigh Cetak managed to each win three games in one of the two sets, but fell in straight sets. Concordia lost two games combined at #2 and #4 singles to wrap up the 7-0 win.
Up next, Hastings will host Northwestern on Senior Day on Friday, April 11 at 1pm.
