Broncos Unable to Defeat Concordia
(Seward, NE) – In the last regular season conference road trip, the Hastings Broncos fell 7-0 to the Concordia Bulldogs on Wednesday.
Concordia won at #1 and #2 doubles each by a score of 6-0, while also taking #3 doubles 6-2 to sweep doubles and go up 1-0 in the match.
Freshman Ben Hafer had the most competitive match for Hastings, winning six games at #4 singles, including four in the second set of his 6-2, 6-4 loss. Freshman Joel Carter also improved from his first set at #1 singles, taking three second set games in a 6-1, 6-3 loss.
At #6 singles, freshman Ethan Zimmerman managed to win games in both sets as well, falling 6-2, 6-1, as Concordia lost two games combined at #2, #3, and #5 singles to clinch the 7-0 victory.
Up next, Hastings will host Northwestern on Senior Day on Wednesday, April 9 at 1pm.
