
Men's Tennis Concludes Fall Season at Bronco Invite
(Hastings, NE) – The men's tennis team finished up their fall portion of their schedule on Friday and Saturday with their home Bronco Invite, competing against Baker and Doane.
In doubles, freshman Conner George and Ethan Zimmerman lost their play-in match to Doane, 1-8. Playing in the quarterfinals, senior Nick Smeltzer and junior Ethan Mins lost 4-8 to Doane, while freshmen Ben Hafer and Alex Hafer lost 5-8 to Baker.
In the one through three singles draw, Ben won his first match in a play-in match via forfeit, then lost to Doane 0-8 in the quarterfinals. Smelzer lost 5-8 to Doane and Mins lost 3-8 to Baker.
Playing in the open singles, George grabbed an 8-2 win over Doane, then lost 3-8 in the quarterfinals to Baker. Zimmerman also played a play-in match, falling 8-1 to Doane. Alex lost 3-8 in the quarterfinals to Doane.
Hastings is scheduled to resume their season on Friday, January 31 at 4pm in Kearney, NE against McPherson.
