York Takes Down Broncos, 50-3
(York, NE) – The men's wrestling team battled York University on Thursday, falling to the Panthers, 50-3.
York pinned Hastings in the opening match at 125, then sophomore Logan Hackman won on a 14-8 decision at 133 over Hector Holguin to make it a 6-3 York lead.
At 141 and 149, York won by fall. Sophomore Nicholas Freeland almost took the 157 bout, falling just short in a 14-11 decision. The Panthers won three of the next four bouts by fall, then took the final match at 285 by forfeit, as Hastings left the spot open, leading to the 50-3 York win.
Up next, Hastings will compete at the Missouri Valley Open on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 10am.
