
Men's Wrestling Opens Season at Falcon Open
(Park City, KS) - The Hastings men's wrestling team competed in their first event of the season at the Falcon Open in Park City, KS on Saturday.
Sophomore Creel Weber won his opening match on a 7-6 decision at 125. After losing his second match, Weber won his first consolation match, but lost his second.
Sophomore Logan Hackman won his first two matches at 133, then after falling in his third match, he went 1-1 in the consolation. Freshman Gant Browning also competed at 133, losing his first match, then went 1-1 in consolation.
Freshman Jordan Tobias lost his opening match at 149, but pinned his first consolation opponent 35 seconds in, then lost his second consolation match.
Freshmen Esteban Sedano and Conall Liburdi, as well as sophomore Trevor Leon, lost their opening matches at 184, then went 1-1 in the consolation matches. Freshman Maximus Messa, who also competed at 184, lost both of his matches.
Junior Matheson Rodriguez lost his opening match at 197, but won his first four consolation matches with a couple of decisions, a tech fall, and a forfeit, before falling in the consolation quarterfinals. Freshman Aiden Griffin lost both of his matches at 197.
Up next, Hastings will travel to Atchison, KS on Friday, Nov. 8 for the Loosbrock Duals, then on Saturday, Nov. 9 for the Loosbrock Tournament.
