
Bulldogs Best Broncos in Home-Opening Dual
(Hastings, NE) – The Hastings men's wrestling team fell to the Concordia Bulldogs 33-22 in their opening home conference dual of the season.
Sophomore Creel Weber won by forfeit at 125, then sophomore Justin Rodriguez won his match at 133 by pinning his opponent in the third round to put Hastings up 12-0.
Concordia won at 141, then freshman Jordan Tobias pinned his opponent at 149, giving the Broncos a 18-6 lead, but the Bulldogs would take over from there, winning the next five matches.
The Bulldogs won at 157 on a 16-4 major decision and at 165 by technical fall. Concordia got pins at 174, 184, 197, to go up 33-18. Freshman Koen Mattern won on an 11-0 major decision to end the match at 33-22.
Up next, Hastings will compete at the GPAC Duals on Tuesday, Nov. 26 in Seward, NE.
