Parkville, MO – The Hastings College baseball team was back in action Saturday taking on William Woods where the Broncos dropped game one 5-4 in eight innings before winning game two 6-3.

Unfortunately, the Owls would tie the game in the seventh to force extra innings and would get a home run in the eighth to take a 5-4 lead. Hastings was unable to find the tying run and would drop game one 5-4.

Descartes then moved to third on Martinez's single and then scored on Jaden Stone's RBI sac fly to left as HC and WWU were now tied 3-3. Marcus Miller shut down the Owl bats in the sixth and the Bronco offense went back to work.
Merritt reached first on an error by the short stop and Otto reached base by getting hit by a pitch. With runners on first and second, Lucero got the pitch he wanted and deposited it over the left field fence for the 3-run home run as Hastings took the lead 6-3.
Miller stayed on the mound for the seventh and had no trouble finishing the game as he got Ian Hickman to strikeout, Jack Niggemeier to ground out and struck out Colby Caton to end the game.
