
Women's Cross Country Begins Season at Augustana Twilight
(Sioux Falls, S.D.) – The Hastings women's cross country team kicked off their season Friday night at the annual Augustana Twilight meet. They took sixth place among the GPAC schools that competed in the big race.
Senior Shania Santos led the way for the Broncos by placing 91st with a time of 19:41.15. Senior Cynthia Chaparro-Belloc ran a 20:25.54 race to finish 141st, while sophomore Grace Dow took 159th with a time of 20:41.34.
Junior Ava Brackhan (21:37.24) and sophomore Whitney Cure (21:41.84) were able to finish in the top 200, placing 196th and 199th, respectively. Junior Mikayla Seebohm (22:22.04) and freshman Brooklyn Brandt (22:26.27) rounded out the competitors for the Broncos, finishing just outside the top 200.
Hastings will compete next at the Greeno/Dirksen Invite in Lincoln, NE on Saturday, September 21. The race is scheduled to begin at 9am.
