Shotgun Sports Takes 3rd at FHSU Shoot

(Hays, Kansas) – The Hastings College Shotgun Sports team traveled back to Fort Hays State University this weekend to compete at the FHSU Shoot. Hastings finished with the third highest team score, behind Midland and host Fort Hays State.

Junior Hunter Gilbertson had the best individual performance for Hastings with 411 points, placing seventh overall. He was sixth in sporting, super sporting, and trap, ninth in trap doubles, and 18th in skeet doubles.

Senior Tanner Dager finished in 20th place for Hastings with 401 points. He was 25th in sporting, 12th in super sporting, 19th in trap, 53rd in trap doubles, and 55th in skeet doubles.

Junior Austin Hofts and sophomore Tucker Carpenter tied for 32nd with a total score of 394 points, while junior Hayden Thomason was 36th with 392 points. 

Senior Rennick Turner placed 84th with 368 points, while senior Kyle Frederick and sophomore Chase Wieczorek tied for 91st with 363 points. Sophomore Jake Royal finished 105th with 356 points and sophomore Hannah Sears was 118th with 345 points.

Up next, the Broncos will participate in the three-day Midland Invitational in Lincoln, NE from Friday, September 20-22.
