Thomas Earns 1st Team All-American Honors; First in School History

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced its three men’s basketball All-America teams Monday, just days after the conclusion of the 86th annual NAIA Men’s Basketball National Championship. Elijah Malone of Grace (Ind.) was named the NAIA Player of the Year after guiding the Lancers to an incredible 34-2 record and a berth to the NAIA Fab Four. Additionally, Drew Stutts of Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) was named the NAIA Coach of the Year after leading the Lions to a come-from-behind win to capture the 2024 NAIA Men’s Basketball Red Banner.

Thomas Garners GPAC Player of the Year; Four Broncos Honored

(Sioux City, Iowa) – Reggie Thomas of Hastings College has been selected as the Hauff Mid-America Sports/Great Plains Athletic Conference(GPAC) Men’s Basketball Player-of-the-Year and headlines the GPAC Basketball All-Conference Teams for 2023-24. Thomas averaged 24.3 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game for the Broncos who went 20-8 overall and 15-5 in conference play during the regular season, earning a share of the GPAC regular season title.

What is even sweeter is Hastings will be hosting that game on Tuesday night after defeating Concordia 82-78 on Saturday afternoon in what can only be called a tremendous basketball game inside Lynn Farrell Arena.

Hastings, NE – The Hastings College men’s basketball team took on a battle-hardened Briar Cliff team and was able to pull away late to defeat the Chargers 76-61 on Wednesday night inside Lynn Farrell Arena in the quarterfinals of the Great Plains Athletic Tournament.
33 Years in Waiting But the Broncos are Conference Champions

Crete, NE – It’s been 33 years since the Hastings College men’s basketball team had won a regular season conference title. The Great Plains Athletic Conference didn’t exist as the Broncos’ last conference crown came back during the Nebraska Iowa Athletic Conference days but all of that changed on Saturday afternoon when the Broncos defeated Doane 83-70 to claim a share of the GPAC regular season title with Northwestern and Concordia. Hastings finally ended the drought that brought plenty of cheers and of course a cold shower for Head Coach Todd Raridon.
