Bio

Andy Chase, a Hastings, Nebraska native, and Hastings College graduate, enters his fourth year of coaching as the inaugural head coach for Hastings College Esports. Along with Esports, Chase also enters his fifth year as the Live Production Coordinator for Hastings College, overseeing the productions of HC Media.

After graduating high school in 2015, Chase found himself studying sports journalism at Hastings College, but also developed an interest in sports broadcasting, which he picked up as a second major and graduated with in 2019.

During his time at Hastings, Chase merged his interest in broadcasting with his love for video games, becoming a streamer in August 2018. First, starting on the popular streaming platform Twitch, Chase showcased his competitive side with Rainbow Six Siege, Fortnite, and Rocket League. Then, in Fall 2019, Chase transitioned to Mixer, where he continued his competitive side alongside games he grew up playing, such as the Elder Scrolls series, the Fallout series, and popular MMORPG RuneScape.

While on Mixer, Chase learned to grow out of his shyness, becoming friends with many streamers and viewers from across the world. This would prove to be a vital thing in June 2020, as Mixer announced it was ceasing operations. Chase then returned to Twitch and became an Affiliate on June 29, 2020. Chase had also picked up VALORANT into his rotation, where he mains Killjoy.

In March 2021, Chase took on a new role along with his stream, becoming the Social Media and Discord Director for a newly created gaming organization called 6ixthSense.

Outside of Hastings College, Chase enjoys watching all sorts of sports, especially the Chicago Cubs. Since February 2018, Chase has worked for the Hastings Sodbusters, a summer collegiate wood bat team that plays at beautiful and historic Duncan Field as a charter member of the Expedition League (2018-2021) and the Independence Baseball League (2022-). Here, as the Sports Information Director, Chase has spent the last four summers in the dugout, making friendships with the players along with helping their development, as well as learning from the coaches.

In May 2024, Chase became part-owner of the Sodbusters, with his duties entailing overseeing equipment management, statistics, and player relations.

One motto that Chase has grown fond of is one that Manager Chandler Wagoner and Pitching Coach Luke Bay of the 2021 Sodbusters brought into the dugout in that “the only two things you can control in a game? Your attitude and your effort.”
