
Men's Golf Takes 4th at UC Ferguson Classic
(Oklahoma City, OK) – The Hastings College men's golf team wrapped up their first meet of the season at the UC Ferguson Classic on Tuesday. As a team, they finished in a three-way tie for fourth place in the 13-team event that began on Monday.
Junior Max Nielsen had the best finish for the Broncos, earning fifth place. He got off to a hot start in round one by shooting a -4, which was third best overall for the round. His excellent golf continued through round three, ending with a -6 score.
Senior Gabriel Escalera and junior Henry Kosmicki also performed well, each placing in the top 30. Escalera, who had an impressive -3 second round, ended with a +1 overall to take 20th, and Kosmicki took 29, finishing strong with a -1 in round three.
Junior Ryker Dunkley (+8) and sophomore Trevor Seeley (+16) rounded out the scores for Hastings, finishing 40th and 59th, respectively.
The Broncos will next compete on September 3-4 at the Mid South Classic in Newton, Kansas at the Sand Creek Station course.
