Mark Chavez - Alumni Coach of the Year

Mark Chavez is receiving the Alumni Coach of the Year award for his 17-year service as Defensive Coordinator and Strength Coach for the Millard North High School football team. During his tenure, the Mustangs have won three state titles and three runner-up titles. A Millard North alum who earned Honorable Mention All-American honors while playing football at Hastings College, Chavez has coached current and former NFL and Husker football players, including Heisman Trophy winner Eric Crouch. Since 2005, he also has served as defensive line coach and special teams coach for the Omaha Beef, an Indoor Football League team.
